Donated by Ian Wallace, a Vancouver-based, internationally renowned painter, photographer and art historian, the generous gift builds upon the Emily Carr University Library Artists’ Book collection, which has thematic strength in the postwar, avant-garde practices of Conceptual, Fluxus and Performance Art.

This collection, generously donated by Dr. Wosk includes prints and artists’ books from Post-Impressionists and Dada to Bauhaus and Surrealism.

A miniature Vancouver gallery housing over 500 books, from contemporary manifestos to current zines, the lower case reading room features “one of the richest collections of unusual zines and artist-made books in the country.” The lower case reading room contains the combined collections of Jo Cook, Rebecca Dolen and Brandy Fedoruk, from the Regional Assembly of Text.
