    Emily Carr University of Art + Design hosts an all-day symposium On the Edge of Chaos: Contemporary Neuroscience, Creative Patterns and Material Production to explore how the study of the brain and neuroscience can shed light on art-making and creative processes.

    Interactive Futures 09: Stereo will be held in the Intersections Digital Studios at Emily Carr, November 19-21, 2009. Interactive Futures (IF) is a forum for showing current tendencies in digital media art as well as a conference for exploring ideas and research related to technology and art. The conference consists of keynote addresses, presentations, exhibitions, and performances.

    In the Spring of 2007, ECI Lecturer and PLA Coordinator, Sheila Hall and Associate Professor, Sam Carter, traveled to the Philippines to establish two internships supported by ECI for Industrial Design students Raneen Nosh and Jeff Werner. The three-month internship was divided into two separate projects. The first project was with the Rurungan sa Tubod Foundation in Puerto Princesa on the Island of Palawan. The Rurungan Foundation creates an alternative livelihood for women in the more poverty-stricken rural areas of Palawan.
