Using renewable, recycled and reclaimed materials including ecoresin, bamboo, reclaimed Douglas fir and vintage glass, many of their designs are inspired by, and named after B.C. places and landscapes.
Each recipient will be recognized at a presentation and exhibition event on September 27, 2010 at Shaw TV Studios. Recipients will receive $2,500 and be granted the use of the British Columbia Creative Award seal to signify their creative excellence.
The Carter Wosk British Columbia Creative Achivement Awards for Applied Art and Design are named in honour of BC philanthropist, academic and visionary Dr. Yosef Wosk, whose financial support makes them possible, and for Sam Carter, BC educator, designer and curator.
