  • Sam Carter | World Mask Exhibition

    The World Mask Exhibition is an interactive exhibition that celebrates art and anthropology with masks from around the world.

    The Carter-Harmon Collection featured in the exhibition is on loan from Professor Emeritus Sam Carter, the Canadian Society for Asian Arts Museum and Museum of Northern British Columbia, Prince Rupert. 

    The exhibition includes ancient and new masks crafted from wood, paper mache, bamboo, metals as well as combinations of plastics, textiles and ceramics and other natural and synthetic materials.

  • Yu-Hang Huang | Art Souterrain 2013

    Sessional faculty member Yu-Hang Huang will exhibit her latest installation at Art Souterrain 2013 from March 2 to March 17, 2013, in Montreal, Quebec.

    The installation shows “home” which has been transferred into massive broken electric images representing time and distance for new immigrants. New cultures and images quickly mingle with old memories, and create proofs that seem there, but not there.

  • The Capilano Review Featuring Larissa Beringer, Kyla Mallett + Aaron Peck

    Issue 3.19 of The Capilano Review - Winter 2013 —the narrative issue— features short fiction, prose poems, excerpts from experimental novels, lists, graphic work, and more from Derek Beaulieu, Clint Burnham, Jen Currin, Nicole Markotic, Ashok Mathur, Vanessa Place, Meredith Quartermain, Sina Queyras, Gail Scott, Michael Turner, Emily Carr librarian Larissa Beringer, sessional instructor Aaron Peck, plus artwork by assistant professor Kyla Mallett.

    The Capilano Review will launch the narrative issue on February 15 at 1965 Main Street in Vancouver at 8pm (doors open at 7:30pm). Cover charge and cash bar.

  • Kyla Mallett | Canadian Art Review

    A review of Assistant Professor Kyla Mallett’s work How to See and Read the Aura, currently exhibiting at Mercer Union in Toronto can be read at Canadian Art Magazine.

  • Sylvia Grace Borda | Street Level Photoworks Gallery

    Sylvia Grace Borda, research associate, is presenting a body of 28 new photo works specially produced for Street Level, Glasgow. This newly commissioned work will be accompanied by an artist lecture, entitled The Agency of Light, wherein Sylvia will discuss the history of the photogram through the cyanotype and silver-based processes.
