Online Learning Admissions
Emily Carr University of Art + Design welcomes you to online learning with our renowned artists and designers from the convenience of your own home, internet café or campus lab. Online Learning courses are open to individuals from the general public who are interested in developing skills in an art and design environment. Currently enrolled students at Emily Carr, alumni and students attending other post-secondary institutions are also welcome to register for these courses.

Who is Eligible
Online courses are open to individuals from the general public interested in developing skills in an art and design environment. The minimum academic requirement to take any first year (100 level) online course is the successful completion of a high school diploma including senior level English 12 or equivalent. Second year (200 level) courses generally require the successful completion of the first year pre-requisite course or courses.
NOTE: Admission into our online learning program does not constitute admission into our degree programs. Students interested in pursuing our degree programs must apply as per our published deadlines and guidelines; see Admissions.
Currently enrolled students at Emily Carr, alumni, and students attending other post-secondary institutions are also welcome to register for these courses.

If you are not currently a registered student at Emily Carr and you would like to register for an online course;
- Review the available courses and determine your eligibility.
- Download and complete an Online Application Form and submit it to the Admissions Office.

Online Application Deadline Dates
- Fall Semester (September) - May 15
- Spring Semester (January) - October 15
- Summer Semester (May) - March 15
Please note submitting your application will not register you into courses, this information will assist the Admissions Office in determining your eligibility for enrolment and you will be contacted accordingly.
Note: Emily Carr reserves the right to cancel courses that are under-enrolled.
