The Lake Country Art Gallery presents third beach, an installation by artists Melany Nugent-Noble (2015) and Trent Noble. third beach considers the idea of community and activates the gallery as a gathering space by enhancing a sense of warmth, comfort, and home with a virtual campfire.

third beach runs for over a month at the Lake Country Art Gallery. During this time, there will be an opening reception as well as an existential cafe + artist talk on January 28 from 2 to 3:30pm.

About Melany Nugent-Noble:

Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Melany Nugent-Noble is an inter-disciplinary artist who currently lives in Kelowna, British Columbia. She holds a Masters of Applied Arts from Emily Carr University of Art + Design.

Nugent-Noble’s practice is informed by her background in digital arts and media, communications and experience working with the Government of British Columbia. She makes use of tactics of play (as opposed to strategies) that are negotiated through text and public space that aim to collate, destabilize and amplify repetition and patterns in order to create slippage and displacement of rhetoric, language and everyday routine.
