Slides
There are approximately 150,000 slides in the collection. The primary focus of the slide collection is 20th and 21st century art, design and media, although there is a large historical component as well. They are in filing cabinets on the 1st floor of the library. This collection is an excellent resource of images for research, classroom use and art projects. The Library also subscribes to several digital image collections listed under Databases in the library hotlinks section.
How to search for slides
Search the Library's online catalogue to identify slides on a particular artist.
- Each slide has been assigned a suject heading based on the artist. For example:
Orozco, Gabriel, 1962- -- Slides
The full record for Gabriel Orozco [Slide] indicates that there are two subject areas that house Orozco slides as follows:
West 20c print Mexico
West 20c sculpture Mexico
- The subject areas listed in the full record correspond to labels on the slide cabinets located on the 1st floor of the library. Within each cabinet the slides are arranged alphabetically by artist.
