Congratulations to alumna Vanessa Black (2010) for her new role as Seymour Art Gallery's Curator/Director! Black graduated from Emily Carr University of Art + Design with a Visual Arts Major. Formerly the Gallery Assistant at Seymour Art Gallery, she maintains an active art practice.

Vanessa Black is an emerging artist living and working in Vancouver, BC. Through experimenting with unlikely painting methods and materials, she invites chance and the unexpected into her work. Her practice oscillates between ideas surrounding the uncanny, collecting, and the body. Her work has been collected and exhibited across Canada since 2006.
