Zachary Fluker Shortlisted for Rest:Public Seating Design Competition
Industrial Design student, Zachary Fluker's BC Bench was shortlisted for Vancouver's 'REST: Public Seating Design Competition'. BC Bench is a manifestation of dynamic public seating, and a unique visual and physical seating experience. Through a process of 5-axis CNC machining, this design, made of larch wood, seeks to showcase the craft of woodworking in the twenty-first century and provoke the imagination of the user.
REST is the third annual design project undertaken by IDS West, the Architectural Institute of British Columbia and the Interior Design Institute of British Columbia.
Zachary's piece, sponsored by Pacific Woodwork, was on display at the IDS West Exhibition, March 19-22, 2008. For more on Zachary's work, please go to www.zacharyfluker.com.
