Part-time, second year student, Elizabeth Boylan and her company VectorBloom Technologies, have ventured into the new frontier of programming and game development for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Elizabeth recently jumped onto this rapidly emerging business model of designing and developing 'Apps' for the iPhone and iPod Touch to be sold on the iTunes Store.

Earlier this fall, VectorBloom Technologies was approved by Apple Inc. to design and sell Applications world-wide. VectorBloom's first app to hit the iTunes Store, 'iCrochet' is close to Elizabeth's heart as a Crochet enthusiast. On a visit to the Nelson, BC, she was first inspired to crochet from seeing the local residents wearing unique hand knit hats. She has been 'hooked' ever since.

The application, iCrochet was designed considering a solution to the problem of how cryptic crochet instructions are in books. But why is this 'App' more unique than an on-line tutorial through the internet? Well to begin, a hand held device such as an iPhone or iPod Touch fits in your pocket or purse more easily than a book. Once the App is downloaded, you don't require access or a connection to the internet to learn how to crochet by watching the video tutorials. And for more complicated crochet patterns, you can carry your project instructions with you. The iCrochet application will include routine upgrades which will feature new patterns and new videos.

iCrochet arrives just in time for anyone wanting to make their own gifts for friends and family for the Holiday Season.
