Burnaby Art Gallery (BAG) Community Exhibitions Art in the Libraries presents Watercolours and Greeting Cards by Maud Sherman 1900 - 1976. Artist and book illustrator Maud Sherman was born in Mission City, BC in 1900. In 1920 she started exhibiting work with B.C. Society of Fine Arts and was an active member of the B.C. Art League. In 1925 she attended the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts and went on to illustrate school books and sell her greeting cards in local venues. Her family had a very active interest in the local art scene and was involved in the establishment of both the Vancouver Art Gallery and Emily Carr University of Art + Design.
