Dan Starling's work combines different aesthetic traditions to produce exciting juxtapositions that explore the latent possibilities of the experience of art. An effusive and eclectic approach, Starling uses of all manner of media; drawing, printmaking, photography, painting, performance, video, installation, sculpture, artist books and writing to produce highly textured works that encourage critical engagement. Having studied at the University of British Columbia (BSc 2001), he went on to complete a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art and Design (2005) and a Meisterschüler from Städelschule, Frankfurt (2011). Starling has exhibited his work internationally.
