Diane Evans has taught in the Photography Program and the Continuing Studies Program since 1996. Evans graduated with Honors in Photography from ECIAD, she furthered her studies in a Master Class at the Banff Center and later did a short internship at the Creative Center of Photography. Since 1987, she has been the Gallery Manager at Presentation House Gallery, an internationally recognized photography and media based art gallery in North Vancouver where she oversees the exhibition installations, and manages the Gallery Bookstore.
Evans uses a wide variety camera formats both analog and digital. She has worked extensively with paper negatives and color negative pinhole cameras as well as idiosyncratic plastic cameras, which allows an unpredictable degree of incident in the compostions. Her work embraces the personal and the poetic while rooted in narrative. She has exhibited nationally and internationally and her work is in numerous collections.
