Vanessa Hall-Patch lives on Bowen Island, BC and commutes to Vancouver where she works as both a technician and instructor at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Hall-Patch received her Masters in Fine Arts from the University of Alberta in 2004 and prior to that her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Queen’s University in 2001. Hall-Patch has participated in national and international exhibitions throughout Canada, the United States, Europe, and Japan and is the recipient of various grants and artist residencies. She creates works on paper through a combination of mixed media printmaking, photography and collage. As inspiration for her art, she continually draws upon her surroundings as she currently explores concepts of home and the emotional and physical attachments to it.
