Fiona Bowie is an Assistant Professor in Integrated Media. Her work has been exhibited in Europe, America and Canada. She works with superimposition of time/ still-based media and mix-media/sculpture. Most recently, Fiona has been posting anonymous photographic interventions on google earth and maps.
Flow, a work by Bowie with collaborator UBC Computer scientist Sidney Fels at 1 Kingsway in Vancouver (flow1kingsway.com) was selected as one of the top 40 public artworks installed in North America in 2009
(by AFTA/w. Artist Fred Wilson and Helen Lessick). Flow was the only Canadian artwork to be selected.
Surface is a live documentary of the underwater life of Vancouver’s False Creek at surfacer.ca.
She is a singer/songwriter for SLickerSlacker and directs Órbitas artist residency in Costa Rica.
