Colleen Brown received her master's degree in 2010 from the Milton Avery School Of Arts at Bard College. Her work has recently been exhibited at Unit 17. Upcoming group exhibitions include Nature's Way, at Cooper Cole this December and Ten Different Things in the Spring. Colleen's work was recently exhibited at the Vancouver Art Gallery as part of Vancouver Special: Ambivalent Pleasures. She was awarded a Portfolio Prize in 2016.
Colleen's education began with a B.A. Psyc. from Simon Fraser University with an emphasis in philosophy and biological psychology. During this time Colleen's primary interest was in the nature of consciousness and mind/body problem. Colleen found that the ideas she was pursuing privately could be more fully explored within a contemporary art context and studied art making in many ways which including a BFA at Emily Carr University.
