Shelagh Joyce McLellan was born and raised in Vangshylla, Inderøy in central Norway. Growing up in a rural environment along Trondheim Fjord, she is down to earth, yet environmentally conscious. At the age of sixteen she crossed the Atlantic Ocean and the North American continent to Shawnigan Lake, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. At Shawnigan Lake she attended Maxwell International Bahai School. After graduation two years later, she moved to Vancouver to study at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, where she is currently in her fourth year.
Her passions were ignited by Industrial Design and she intends to pursue a career designing medical and assistive devices, focusing on co-design, interaction, ergonomics and sustainability.
