"I love how objects play an un-credited part in our lives, how they sit silently waiting to be used, how the ones we love show a patina of our handling, and how they can become animated with human contact.
My intent is not to question domestic life, but to identify and amplify the little idiosyncrasies we all ignore on a daily basis while we go about being human. It’s in this intimate interaction between the human and the object that I like to intervene.
I tend to use materials most commonly associated with both the construction of the home and typical contents of it. Ceramics, wood, cement, and plastic all carry a language and a history that can be readily understood by all, while allowing me to express with form the implied gesture or behavior of the human".
