Elvira Hufschmid
Bio
Elvira Hufschmid is a Vancouver-Berlin based visual artist, curator and author in the field of Processes of Aesthetic Transformation and Temporary Art Spaces. She is currently collaborating with Ingrid Koenig, Randy Lee Cutler and Margit Schild on a SSHRCC Insight Grant project at ECU: Leaning out of Windows - Art & Physics Collaboration through Artistic Transformations (2016-2019).
Elvira is a fellow/associate at the Berlin Centre for Advanced Studies in Arts & Sciences (BAS) at the Berlin University of the Arts, Germany, (UdK), and was an Artist-in-Residence at TRIUMF, Canada’s National Laboratory for Particle and Nuclear Physics, Vancouver (2011-2014). Her research interests include the phenomenology of transient spaces, as well as aesthetic transformation processes as a methodology for transdisciplinary collaboration and learning.
Elvira has taught as a Team-Guest Professor for “Artistic Transformation Processes“ at the UdK Berlin. She holds a MfA from the San Francisco Art Institute, US.
