Marten Sims
Bio
Marten is a transdisciplinary designer operating primarily in the fields of graphic design, branding, design consulting and brand strategy. He is also a designer of interactions, experiences and events; as well as an artist; curator; researcher; writer; group facilitator; sessional faculty of Print Production & Prepress Technology at ECU; and member of Vancouver's Mayor's Citizens Engaged City Task Force.
Originally from the UK, Marten received his BC(hons) Graphic Design in 2003 and completed his MAA at ECU in 2012. His research project 'Sea Inside' explored how to apply creative and transformation design approaches to the complex problems currently affecting our worlds ocean.
Marten is also a runner and triathelete, which he uses as a metaphor for surviving life: be good at a few things, not just one thing. He also holds the only key to a multi-dimensional pocket plane, enabling him to do all of the above and stay fairly sane.
