Applied Arts Magazine

The design brief for this project was to design a cover, contents page, department/column page, editor's page, two feature spreads, and two portfolio spreads for the Applied Arts Magazine contest. The designs must be transferable to future issues. As a reinvention of Applied Arts, I chose to address the rich history of this magazine, which dates back to 1986. I opted for a nostalgic visual style that borrowed from vintage American trade magazines, yet still contemporary enough to interest the modern reader.

My submission was chosen by Applied Arts as one of the finalists and was featured in the following issue.
