This interactive exhibition celebrates art and anthropology and the stories about masks from around the world. The exhibition continues to March 20, 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Masks from the Museum of Northern British Columbia, Prince Rupert, Canada are featured in the exhibition.  The exhibition includes ancient and new masks crafted from wood, paper mache, bamboo, metals as well as combinations of plastics, textiles and ceramics and other natural and synthetic materials.

The Carter-Harmon Collection featured in the exhibition is on loan from Sam Carter—Professor Emiritus—Emily Carr University of Art and Design—Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, the Canadian Society for Asian Arts Museum and Museum of Northern British Columbia, Prince Rupert.   Salmah Abu Mansor, Institute of Ethnic Studies, National University of Malaysia facilitated the project. National Museum Malaysia curators have designed this engaging, interactive and playful exhibition that combined ancient and new masks from Malaysia and other parts of the Asia-Pacific Rim to complement examples from Europe, Africa and the Near East.

The exhibition is great for a family outing, tourists, academics and all interested in the diverse stories about masks from around the world.
