description

Done at Emily Carr University in collaboration with Corkit, Pluggit is an interactive toy that encourages creative learning in children 4 to 8 years old. This design is a series of repetitive forms that interact with one another. Allowing the child to build in multiple directions creating a structure which then can be interacted with using others toys as well.

Pluggit consists of cork connectors and hollow wooden dowels, both of them provide a warmth that compliment one another. The hollow dowels allow for the structure, yet still keeping it lightweight and the cork peices plug into the wooden dowels. This relates it back to its intrinsic properties of compression resulting in a slight suction against the inner tube wall.
