The Joy Project

A collaborative effort with Hayley Burns, Tevis Bateman and Grey Vaisius, the goal of this project was to build a room out of cardboard that evoked a specific, strong emotional response from the participant. 

We chose the elusive emotion Joy, and worked to achieve it through the element of contrast. The subject crawls through a cramped tunnel, turns a corner and enters into a bright spacious area open to the sky. We focused on simplicity both in form and decoration and worked hard to make the flat packed form as clean as possible. 

We each brought a different strength to the group, and our classmates agreed our end product achieved the subjective emotion. Overall, a successful project!
