AHIS 102: Intro to Visual Culture I

This course is an introduction to different ways of understanding and communicating the many ideas that constitute our visual culture. Students will develop visual and conceptual skills essential to the analysis, understanding, and communication of ideas about visual forms. In addition to preparing students for subsequent more specialized courses, this course examines the historical relationship between visual work and the social context in which it is created in order to foster a greater critical and cultural awareness of art-making.
