CEPR 165 SU01: Printmaking Techniques

This course introduces you to the basics of printmaking through three different techniques: intaglio, lithography, and Japanese woodblock. You will start with intaglio as you learn to work with drypoint on plexiglass. In the lithography section, you will draw on polymer sheets, then print your image using a litho press. You will complete your introduction with Japanese style woodblock using hand rubbing as you explore relief printing. On completion, you will have a broad knowledge of printmaking and three sets of prints. Prerequisites: None

Instructor information: 
Please bring the following supplies to class:
* 1 Apron
* 2 22x30" Rives BFK 250g/m from OPUS
* 3 pairs of Watson 360 total coverage nitrile gloves from Opus
- 2 Ball point pens and Sharpies (to be discussed in class)
- 1 Japanese paper from OPUS (to be discussed in class) 
- 4 Foam brushes from OPUS (to be discussed in class) 
- Water-base inks, water colour trays (to be discussed in class)
