FNDT 112 S005: Drawing + 2D Language II
This continuation of Drawing and Two-Dimensional Language (FNDT 106) further explores the fundamentals of drawing (line, shape, tone, texture, volume, proportion, shadow, space, composition, scale, mark-making tools, and media). Exercises and projects continue work on perceptual and expressive drawing and hand-eye coordination. In-class projects and homework assignments will encompass various aspects of drawing while visual presentations and class discussion will introduce students to contemporary and historical ideas of art and design.
Course content:
The course continues (From Drawing One) to explore essential elements of drawing including language of drawing, life drawing and a range of specific drawing assignments that are both experimental and traditional. This course reflects and contributes to the diversity of art, design and media studies at Emily Carr and beyond.
