ILUS 301: Digital Illustration

This course introduces digital media for Illustrators using three types of computer applications: image editing (Adobe Photoshop), vector graphics (Adobe Illustrator), and digital painting (Corel Painter). While orienting students to the technical aspects of digital media, the class also provides an essential critical framework for the application of these technologies. As students utilize these tools to develop a visual language of their own, emphasis is placed on the methodology employed to arrive at their own stylistic approach and the implications of those formal vocabularies in relation to content and context.

Priority is given to ILUS students in Years 3 and 4. Students outside of the registration priority group may register/waitlist for this course as of the registration rule release date.
