Students are introduced to various traditional and experimental relief printing techniques using materials such as linoleum, wood and found objects. Both hand printing and mechanical press methods will be used to produce editioned work. Through workshop demonstrations, lectures, studio projects, tutorial discussions, and class critiques, students will learn the fundamental techniques of producing editioned relief prints. Emphasis is placed on both critical examination of the students' work and the students' exploration of contemporary ideas in the relief form.
