Students

Emily Carr identification cards are used to borrow materials from the library, the audiovisual department and the tool crib. It is also required for access to many areas of the campus. Your ID card can also be used for discounts at Opus Framing + Art Supplies.

During the first week of any semester the fee for an Emily Carr ID card is waived for both new and returning students.

Photo ID Hours:

To acquire an ID card or to replace an ID card, visit the AV Department between the hours listed below:

3:00 pm - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday
9:30 pm - 3:30 pm Saturdays + Sundays (closed between 12 - 1)

New Students:

  • There will be extended AV hours during the first week of September and January for processing ID cards.
  • To process your ID card, you MUST provide your course verification form (the computer printout of your course schedule and student number) at the AV counter.
  • It takes approximately 2-3 days for the ID card to be activated.
  • If your ID card access does not work within 3 days of the start of the semester, contact Facilities at room 200 in the North Building.
  • Your ID card includes your photograph and student identity number and should be protected from loss or use by others. 
  • Report lost or stolen ID cards to Security immediately

At the end of the first week in September /January, a $ 5.00 service fee will be charged to process your ID card:

  • The $5.00 service fee MUST be paid in advance at Financial Services – Cashier Window located next to room 202 on the second floor of the north building. 
  • To process your ID card, you MUST present your receipt of your $5.00 payment and your course verification form (the computer printout of your course schedule and student number) at the AV counter.  

 Returning Students:

  • Your card access will be updated automatically.
  • If your ID card access does not work within 3 days of the start of the semester, contact Facilities at room 200 in the North Building.
  • Your ID card includes your photograph and student identity number and should be protected from loss or use by others. 
  • Report lost or stolen ID cards to Security immediately.

Replacement ID Cards:

Prior to obtaining your replacement student ID card:

  • A $5.00 fee MUST be paid in advance at Financial Services – Cashier Window located next to room 202 on the second floor of the north building.
  • To process your ID card, you MUST present your receipt of your $5.00 payment and your course verification form (the computer printout of your course schedule and student number) at the AV counter.
  • It takes approximately 2-3 days for the ID card to be activated.
  • If your ID card access does not work within 3 days, contact Facilities at room 200 in the North Building.

 Weekend Photo ID Services:

  • To acquire an ID card on the weekend, a receipt of your $5.00 payment and your course schedule is required.
  • The Financial Services Department is NOT open on the weekends. Remember to visit their Cashier Window Monday through Friday during their office hours.
  • An ID card created on the weekend does not automatically provide access to the designated areas of the University. An activation process is required.
  • The activation process of your ID card will take place Monday through Friday of the following week. It takes approximately 2-3 days for the card to be activated.
  • If your ID card access does not work within 3 days, contact Facilities at room 200 in the North Building.
