Graduating Students
For students to receive their degree and to cross the stage at the Convocation Ceremony at the Chan Centre on May 5, 2012, all courses must be completed by April 21, 2012.

Graduating students meet at the UBC Graduate Student Centre at 12 noon to check in and get organized for the processional to the Chan Centre (approximately 2 city blocks). The processional will begin at 12:50pm.

Convocation Ceremony Tickets
(information updated April 10)
Due to the number of graduating students and limited seating, each graduating student is allowed 2 tickets for guests. Graduating students DO NOT require a ticket.
Tuesday, April 10 at 12 noon to Friday, April 27 at 11:59pm

Graduating students order tickets online. Students can order tickets online (nominal non-refundable charge of $2.00 per ticket and $1.75 per order, credit card required) and print their own tickets or choose to pick them up at will call. Tickets at will call are held until 30 minutes before the ceremony begins at which time they will be reallocated to guests in the Stand by line up.
Students can order their tickets here. Select the number of tickets (maximum 2) and enter your student number (without the zeros at the front) as the password.
Alternatively, until April 27, graduating students can go to the Chan Centre in-person and pick up their 2 tickets at no charge. You will need to present your Emily Carr Student ID card. A friend or family member can pick up your tickets for you provided they have a copy of your student ID card.
Chan Centre Ticket Office hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 12pm to 5pm.

Ticket sales for the ceremony will open to the public. Any tickets left over from the initial request period will become available to the public. They will only be available online (nominal non-refundable charge of $2.00 per ticket and $1.75 per order, credit card required). There will be a maximum of two tickets per order.
All orders not printed at home will be available at will call until 30 minutes before the graduation ceremony begins. Orders not picked up by 12:30pm will be reallocated to guests in the Stand by line up.
Stand by line up: Once all tickets have been issued, guests will be directed to this line and any returned tickets will be reallocated to them. Any guests without tickets are welcome to come early and wait in the Stand by line up prior to the ceremony. It is recommended that they line up at least half an hour before the ceremony begins. There is no guarantee that guests in the stand by line will be able to attend the ceremony but the Chan Centre staff will do their best to accommodate everybody.
Dress Code
Graduating students are not required to wear caps & gowns but they will be given a scarf when checking in at the Graduate Student Centre that is color coded to their degree. You are encouraged to dress up!

Gown Rental
Students who wish to wear a gown can place an individual rental order directly with Gaspard and Sons. You will be required to pay up front with a credit card. Orders must be placed no later than April 20.
