Gallery 295 is pleased to present new work by Elizabeth Zvonar ('01) .

Elizabeth Zvonar combines new collage work with photographs she has been taking that resemble constructed collage yet are genuine images taken with a camera. The collage images layer contemporary fashion spreads with nebulae implying the body is one in a vast sea of stars. The photographs interspersed throughout the exhibition ground and confuse the constructed images through the improbable reflections and refractions of colour, light and nature within our built world, abstracting how we understand what we’re seeing.

Emily Carr Alumni Launch Yew Wood Shop

Posted: Wed, 2013-11-13 17:46

You may have seen their work during last year’s Eastside Culture Crawl, when the talent located in the shop space within the House of Doors building first opened for public viewing, showcasing a newly unified community of industrial designers. After a year of growth and restructuring, the current residents— which include four Emily Carr alumni—have revamped the space and rebranded the building as the Yew Wood Shop.

“Last year’s Crawl was an experiment for us. This year our goal is to show our growth, both in our business and creative capabilities, and give people a reason to come back,” says Pat Christie, shop manager.
