The song All the World is Green by Tom Waits was provided to me as a guide for this project. The goal of the project was to make make a new appointment with the song, a space, and an audience. It was to be an event that introduced your audience to the song in some way.
In The Fire of Conflict

It’s dark, I can’t see my hands in front of my face. I turn around to face this invisible crowd. All these places and faces. Erase the friend in me. I can’t see, it’s dark. I see a flame spark. I can’t think. All I hear is dogs barking. I can’t take the conflict. I can’t take the violence. I can’t take this blasphemy. I can’t see, it’s dark. I see a flame spark. I can’t think. All I hear is these dogs; They’re barking and digging for my soul. Onto destruction I fall. For me they set this trap. Along this dark path. Confusion and persecution: “Nothing left to luck?” I ask.

This project was created for class and it is inspired by Christos Hatzis' String Quartet #1. He stated that he was inspired by the rapidly vanishing Inuit culture and the increase in the suicide rate among Inuit youth in 90's. To visualize this unique inspirations Christos Hatzis had, I used a Inuit boat-kayak as a symbolic representation of its vanishing culture and deaths of young Inuit.

For this project, my assigned musician is Christos Hatzis, and I choose Fertility Rites 3d Movement as the song to work on. I intend to experiment the materials as a well as to challenge the conventional use of type treatment.
For the video, I project typography on a paper cut out setting, which is reflected on the content of the poster.
Let Loose Event

This was a term-long project that started with a song that was assigned to us the first day of class. I was assigned Army Dreamers by Kate Bush and with this song we had to pick a location considering the lyrics of the song. Army Dreamers talked about a mother’s grievance over her son's death and how he could have been able to be so many things if he was still alive.
