An inforgraphic. This particular one is about showcasing the connection between how well a country does at the Olympics and how well things are going for it militarily and economically on the world stage. This is examined in relation to nations in the Warsaw Pact and NATO during the Cold War. It would appear that the better a country is doing in terms of influence and power, the more medals it racks up during the games.

Visa 2010 Olympic Competition

A collaboration between communication design and industrial design students for the 2010 Go World Visa Olympics Campaign in Vancouver.

The design is a combination inspired by Vancouver's iconic Canada Place and it's beautiful mountains, ocean waves and orca whales.

The design is constructed out of cardstock and assembled using no glue.

During my 3rd year at Emily Carr I completed a co-op with Contemporary International, the firm hired by VANOC at the 2010 Games for Event Services and Securtiy. Working as the sole designer with the art director, we created a brand identity and visual set including: environmental graphics, extensive printed materials, advertising campaigns and way-finding systems.

This is an anijam project for the foundation year exposition.

The criteria for this anijam was to feature an event/competition (preferably relating to the Olympic), an anvil, and one of the seven deadly sins. We also had to start and finish our animation with the same circle image.

A line of furniture made strictly of recovered Blue Beetle Kill Pine as part of a competition to be displayed in 2010 Winter Olympic venues around BC.

The forms are inspired by the stances of athletes before they embark upon competiton and the natural scenery of Vancouver's many peaks.

Far Coast Coffee Furniture - Group 776

During the Spring 2009 semester, Far Coast Coffee (Coke-a-Cola brand coffee) asked Emily Carr industrial design students and UBC's Center for Advanced Wood Processing, to design a set of furniture to be used at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic games. Designers were only allowed to use blue pine wood, each design needed to be ready to assemble, and designs needed to follow Far Coast’s branding standards.
