AHIS 333 Interdisciplinary Forums Presents Fall 2014 Lecture Series:
Histories | The Art School, The University + Pedagogy

Triple Canopy editor Sarah Resnick will present an overview of the magazine’s history, working methods, and the way in which specific artistic and literary projects have been conceived, edited, and designed in collaboration with contributors.

She will also discuss the particulars of the magazine’s newly redesigned publishing platform, which aims to articulate and enrich the relationships between writing code and reading prose, between digital interfaces and printed pages, between social media and public space.

Emily Carr's Faculty of Visual Art and Material Practice and Presentation House Gallery are pleased to present an artist talk by Moyra Davey, on the occasion of her exhibition Ornament and Reproach, curated by John Goodwin at Satellite Gallery.

The Rennie Collection and Emily Carr are pleased to host an artist talk by British painter Glenn Brown. 

The On Edge readings series presents Mercedes Eng and Alex Leslie.

Mercedes Eng is a teacher and writer in Vancouver, unceded Coast Salish land. She is the author of Mercenary English (CUE Books). Her work has appeared in West Coast Line, Canada and Beyond, The Capilano Review, Geist, and Open Letter. She is also the author of the chapbooks, February 2010 and knuckle sandwich, which explore the potential of documentary poetics.

Emily Carr University and the Rennie Collection are pleased to host an Artist Talk by Dan Graham, followed by a reception at READ Books to launch his new book Nuggets: New and Old Writing on Art, Architecture, and Culture.

Emily Carr University has partnered with SPARK CG, Vancouver ACM SIGGRAPH, Visual Effects Society Vancouver and Mitacs for Virtual Reality Research, Hand Tracking & Procedurally Animated Characters with Dr. Ken Perlin.

Join the Charles H. Scott Gallery for a talk by alumnus Scott Massey. The artist will be speaking in the Gallery about his exhibition Let’s Reach 'c' Together, currently on display through July 14.
