Kerr and Carter Honoured at Emily Carr's Donor Recognition Awards

Emily Carr University of Art + Design's Founding Chancellor, John (Jake) C. Kerr, and Associate Professor, Sam Carter, were recognized at Emily Carr's Donor Recognition Awards Held, Friday, April 30, 2010, for their outstanding philanthropy and leadership.

Emily Carr Announces 2010 Honorary Doctorate and Emily Award Recipients

Emily Carr University of Art + Design will honour renowned photographer Fred Herzog and internationally acclaimed installation artist Jessica Stockholder at the 2010 convocation to be held May 1, 2010, at the Chan Centre. Each will receive an Honorary Doctorate of Letters.

The 2010 Emily Award, acknowledging outstanding achievements by an alumni, will be granted to animator Jeff Chiba Stearns.

Emily Carr University of Art + Design is proud to announce the launch of the inaugural issue of CURRENT, an academic journal intent on demystifying the design process. As an established centre for research and innovation, Emily Carr contributes to the critical dialogue regarding the role of the designer and design methodology. CURRENT is an invaluable, sustainable contribution to an ongoing discourse on the significance of elucidating this process.

Announcing the Farris Award for Art and Social Media

Diane Farris Gallery announced the Farris Award for Art and Social Media, an award worth $500.

The award will be presented to an Emily Carr University of Art and Design undergraduate or graduate student whose work excels in the area of Art and Social Media. The artist will be selected by the Emily Carr Grad Jury, based on the student’s work in the annual graduation exhibition.

Emily Carr and Lat49 Partner to Develop Location-Focused iPhone Application

ReCite - A Social + Interactive Media Centre Project

Emily Carr and Lat49, the location-focused ad network, have announced plans to develop an application for the Apple iPhone. Named ReCite, the application will serve movement and location aware content to users. ReCite runs on users' phones and delivers media content based on their location and pattern of geographical movement.
