Emily Carr and Landon Mackenzie: Wood Chopper and the Monkey, is the fourth in a series of Dialogue with Carr exhibitions organized by the Vancouver Art Gallery, in which the art of iconic West Coast modernist, Emily Carr, is situated in relation to work by contemporary artists from this region.

In the summer of 2013, Hannah Jickling initiated a project as part of Traversing Yukon Landscapes, an exhibition at the Yukon Arts Centre Public Gallery. Featured Features was a series of events that brought together artists, orienteers and other members of the public throughout the month of August. Themes such as: Topography + Image-Making, Mapping + Movement and Landscape + Navigation were explored.

Coming to the Fire Visual Arts Exhibition, The Talking Stick Festival -- the premiere Aboriginal Arts Festival in Western Canada -- is presenting a diverse group of First Nations visual artists at the Roundhouse Community Centre from February 17 to February 28, 2015. This innovative and contemporary work addresses issues of importance in the visual arts field.

The 14th Annual Talking Stick Festival is presented by Full Circle First Nations Performance. Full Circle's upcoming Talking Stick Festival takes place in venues throughout the city from February 17 to March 1, 2015.

Assistant Professor Lorelei Pepi, is the recipient of a Creative Capital award for her interactive installation project proposal, Vigil. This work will engage with people and Emily Carr University resources, such as the S3D Centre.

Creative Capital is pleased to announce its 2015 awardees in the categories of Moving Image and Visual Arts, representing a total of 46 funded projects selected from a nationwide pool of more than 3,700 proposals.
