See Ceramic Artist and Associate Professor Paul Mathieu's latest show at the Gardiner, on this summer in Toronto through September 1, 2014.

"Camp Fires reveals the concept of "Camp" in the work of three important Francophone Canadian ceramic artists: Léopold L. Foulem, Paul Mathieu and Richard Milette. Camp Fires is an often sensual encounter of these artists' powerful body of work, one that addresses subversive ideas about queer identity through clay."

Assistant Professor Lucie Chan and Marigold Santos are exhibiting large scale narrative-based images that are drawn together by the theme of Attachments.

Attachments opens at 7pm on June 26, 2014, at the Richmond Art Gallery and runs from June 27 - August 17, 2014.

The exhibit is curated by Nan Capogna.

Emily Carr University is proud to congratulate retired faculty member and alumna Liz Magor today on being awarded the prestigious 2014 Gershon Iskowitz Prize. The Gershon Iskowitz Foundation, in partnership with the  Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), recognizes Magor for her outstanding contribution to the visual arts in Canada with this prestigious award, which includes a $50,000 cash prize and a solo exhibition at the AGO next year.

Noted photographer and Emily Carr Honourary Doctorate recipient Fred Herzog has been honoured with the Audain Prize for the Visual Arts for lifetime achievement. Awarded annually by the Audain Foundation, the award is worth $30,000.

Fred Herzog has been active in Vancouver's art scene for more than forty years. Born in Germany, he came to Vancouver in 1953. Since that time, he has produced a substantial body of photographs, taking urban life in Vancouver -second-hand shops, vacant lots, neon signage and the crowds of people who have populated the city's streets over the past fifty years-as his primary subject.

Sessional Faculty member, Barb Choit's ('00) first solo exhibition in Toronto, with Cooper Cole Gallery, takes place from April 10 to May 10, 2014.

Originals, Copies, and Fades is a continuation of the artist's series, Fade Diary, in which Choit photographs fading advertising images repeated within an urban context.

Assistant Professor Lucie Chan, Barry Doupé ('04) and Libby Hague are featured in group exhibit at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia from April 25 to June 22, 2014. The exhibit, All That Glows, is co-presented by the Centre for Art Tapes and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and is curated by Mireille Bourgeois.

Rodney Konopaki is a Vancouver-based artist and Associate Professor in the Faculty of Visual Art and Material Practice at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. His practice is grounded in print media, drawing and painting.

Una Abertura ... / An Opening ... is a solo exhibition of work by sessional faculty member Howard Ursuliak, which runs from March 22 to May 30, 2014, at galeria FUCARES in Madrid.

Paris London Hong Kong is presenting Personhood, an installation of new work by Assistant Professor, Kyla Mallett. The exhibition opens with a reception for the artist on Friday, March 14, from 6 to 9 pm and runs to April 19, 2014.
