March 28th - April 11th

“I’ve introduced Gold & Silver foil adding another element along with the ink in these new works. There is something incredibly freeing working with ink... I’m in the moment, the works are energetic and spontaneous allowing my intuitive inspiration to flow through me, expressed through quick gestural strokes from ink beaker onto paper. It is one of the most freeing feelings to trust what will flow when you allow it."

Mezzanine Gallery
February 15 - 28th, 2015

Vancouver is a multi-cultural place that is also known as Hongcouver. It has its own unique history and culture that defines its name. But what does that represent about Hong Kong people? How can one learn about two cultures at the same time? Double Sided is a collection of works that addresses some of these questions. Through creating works with two sides, Anthia promotes the importance of understanding and learning one's identity by revealing some Chinese people's and her personal stories about being a Chinese Canadian. All works are handcrafted and are produced with print making as the main medium. The layering technique is what Anthia has been doing for her own understanding of her identity.
