Instructors, are you looking for films to screen in the classroom? Plan ahead and get your media bookings in now. Many of the films in the Library’s media collection are licensed for classroom use. To guarantee they are available on the day you need them why not place a media booking request? Your friendly Media Booking Department staff can also bring in films from other BC post-secondary libraries for you. To make a media booking fill out our Media Booking form.

The Library will be closed on Monday, September 1st for Labour Day.

Tuesday, September 2nd and Wednesday, September 3rd, the Library will be open 9am - 5pm.

Our regular Fall Semester hours begin on Thursday, September 4th:

Monday - Thursday 8am - 9pm
Friday 8am - 6pm
Saturday + Sunday 1pm - 5pm

Emily Carr now has unlimited access to lyndaCampus: the entire library of Lynda.com instructional videos, available for all students, staff, and faculty.

Use the up-to-date videos on Lynda.com to learn how to use a wide variety of software, including animation, computing, interactive design, photography, web design, for Mac and Windows, and for all skill levels.

This weekend!

Sunday July 13th, 1-5pm

The Sketchbook Project travelling mobile of artists' sketchbooks is cruising into town this weekend. They will be parked just outside of the library on Sunday afternoon! Don't miss out on this chance to meet up with the crew, check-out some amazing sketchbooks, and mingle in the sunshine on a beautiful summer day!

July marks the beginning of several intensive summer residencies at Emily Carr. A new cohort of Low Res students has arrived and others are returning for their 2nd and 3rd year into their Masters degree.

The library will be closed Saturday, June 30th through Tuesday, July
1st: reopening on Wednesday, July 2nd.

The Library Catalogue and Patron Records system will be down for upgrades over the July 1st weekend (from 9:00 pm, Saturday, June 28th to 5:00 am Tuesday, July 1st). During this time you can use Outlook Online to find materials in the Emily Carr Library, but you will not be able to place a hold on any items.

With this also comes a corporate style of management that focuses on measurable outcomes.  This can counter the trend to decolonize and democratize art institutions through the lens of education and social/public programs.

BOOK DONATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED IN THE LIBRARY UNTIL JUNE 13TH. 

Come out and support students and recent graduates of the Emily Carr Ceramics Department -- work on display and for sale May 28-30, 9-5 each day!

The library will be closed on Friday, May 23rd. We will be open again on Monday, May 26th at 9am.
