The “web of things” is a relatively new concept which refers to the increasing connectivity of everday objects to the Web. This experimental project was born out of this concept in an effort to connect one’s location in the “wilderness” to the information rich connectivity of the Internet.

MEC’s watersports buyer was looking to develop a bag to hold two sets of paddles. Cost and simplicity were emphasized as key design drivers, however an opportunity existed to develop something simple yet elegant.
TACTILE GLOVE

Existing cold-water gloves perform well as insulators but do not provide users with the tactile sensitivity and grip they require. An opportunity exists for a better balance between warmth and tactility.

PATH is a 12 volume bookwork with text generated by the physical movement of an anonymous individual living in the city of Montreal between 2005-2007. Each time this individual accessed the internet using public wi-fi over the course of this 2 year period they were tagged wiuth a textual passage exploring themes of visual, personal, and spatial patterns as reflected in the lives of fictional characters.
