Desk Node
description
Situated between a personal artifact and ubiquitous object, Node is a multifunctional light tool for creatives. It creates a space for a variety of task completion. It is an on-desk workspace that acts as a desk light, light table, and a study timer.
The back splash lights up so that it illuminates the work space for completing analog tasks as well as providing a back light that contrasts the on screen glow from the user's computer. The light is most intense at the bottom and fades into a diffused filter near the top as to not be too harsh on ones eyesight.
Soundmark
files
description
A system for chronicling and exploring user generated soundscapes and their corresponding physical environments.
Employing user-generated soundscapes embedded into public spaces, Soundmark is unique in its ability to explore the history and culture of public spaces, either by recording a soundmark, or listening to previously recorded soundmarks within these spaces. It’s significance lies within the user’s emotional response to these soundscapes, which is of course unique to each individual user. It creates a new narrative, both individual and shared, within each public space that a user chooses to explore.

The Venerable Lift
description
The Venerable Lift - A hand-powered wheelchair lift for vertical access in a two storey house.
Frequently in old age, frailty and infirmity set in, limbs ache and joints become stiff, Movements from room to room become onerous. Journeys from floor to floor become insurmountable trials of will. Typically, vertical circulation for the elderly is cold and impersonal, often serving as an unpleasant visual reminder of weekness, take for example wheelchair lifts or pneumatic lifts.
How do we create human powered and aesthetically pleasing vertical circulation that gives the elderly the opportunity to move safely and independently?

Wellworn
description
Textile waste is currently the third largest contributor to the solid waste stream in Vancouver, amounting to more than 33,600 tonnes a year. In addition, most textiles that are thrown out still have a usable life—which indicates that there is a strong need to shift our thinking to accommodate the sustainable use of textiles in our daily lives.
Berggasse 19
description
Berggasse 19 is a conceptual ebook project that takes the user through a mock Freudian therapy session. The name Berggasse 19 is derived from the Venetian address of Sigmund Freud's practice of psychoanalytic theory. The user is theoretically able to check in, speak into the application, and document their progress. The challenge of this project was in creating an eerie and suspenseful experience for the user. The images are from documented photographs of Freud's office and have been altered and transformed into engaging interactive elements.
