Access 2011 conference

description

Access is a prominent Canadian librarian conference. It is where librarians converge to talk about sharing information and data to the general public. Access 2011 was hosted in Vancouver. This project was a collaboration between Sarah Kozlowski and myself.

Our concept for the identity looks to older traditions and how they have been updated with a contemporary twist, to compliment a similar trend currently occuring in libraries. Our main inspiration was the crafting movement, specifically cross stitching. These librarians are taking information from our past and making it contemporary, much like artisans.

Spec print campaign

description

Proposed print campaign and rebranding for the Society Promoting Environmental Conservation, a local non-profit group that campaigns on environmental issues. An explicit focus on sustainability in the urban environment would set Spec apart from other, similar groups operating in Vancouver.

The proposed campaign uses Creative Commons-licenced images from local photographers and inexpensive, sustainable printing methods to create an identity that is visually distinct, ethically consistent, and integrated with its community.

The Exchange Show 2010

video

description

A brand for an art show featuring the works of students who had recently completed student exchange programs. A concept for branding was created in collaboration with Nicole Pizarro and Yuriy Rzhemovskiy. Photos were collected from participants from their exchanges, and placed into 3/4 squares, representing the unfinished feeling of an exchange student. Each image is captioned with the location of each photograph, and each shape is oriented on a virtual compass to point from Vancouver to that location. The final concept featured invitations, screen-printed and digitally printed posters, exhibition design and motion graphics.

CAFAD Communication Audit and Identity re-design

description

The Canadian Association of Fine Arts Deans approached our class re-design their existing website. By conducting a design audit, a new identity was developed to better reflect the lobbyist nature of the organization. The identity, consisting of a wordmark and logotype, was then applied to several pieces of collateral. Also, a mock-up of a website was proposed - one that addressed CAFAD's need for internal communication by introducing a private members' forum section.

CAFAD Re-design

description

Rebranding CAFAD: the Canadian Association of Fine Art Deans.

This project was about the branding process for a company or organization.  By looking and researching all facet of a clients identity, one will find the key elements that need to be conveyed through their logo and brand identity as a whole.  After establishing these key elements, they become the driving vehicle for the website, the tools and the stationary.
