The BC Children's Hospital Patient Tracking project gave us the opportunity to work directly with BCCH to create a proposal for a streamlines patient tracking system. To accomplish this we visited the facility, interviewed the staff and collected information about their current systems.

My contribution to the project was to research the potential uses of RFID tags in a patient authentication system. After learning about the technology and interviewing BCCH staff and Provincial Government representatives, I put together a proposal for implementing the system, and built a working demo that used passive RFID tags to log in to a lightweight web-based authentication system.

The BC Children's Hospital strives to provide expert health care to sick and/or injured children. The BCCH offers services that may not be available anywhere else in the province.

This project was in collaboration with two other students, Vince Lo and Alvin Kwan. The redesign of the BCCH website focuses on the concept of making the hospital more accessible from home. The new website will incorporate a newly conceived visual language and have important information readily available. In addition, a marketing campaign was pursued in order to leverage the new functions of the website and encourage parents and patients to utilize the web components.

This project was our 3rd year Core Studio project. The goal was to redesign the BC Children's Hospital Website. 

Working in partnership with David Aitken, we developped this site, that includes the traditional resources for Children's Hosptial as well a new Symptom Checker. 

We reorganized concept and approached the navigation of the site from an airport way-finding model. The idea being only the information needed at any given moment is offered. This requires a fine balance making this content heavy site an intriguing challenge.

A project undertaken during CORE design studio. A re-design that addressed the problem of exposing the emergency hotline, navigation, and aesthetics. A collaboration with Yuri R. My responsibilities included: Site Map simplification, Graphic elements, Flash slideshow and navigation.

Local Parents usually take their kids to BCCH even though pediatric care is not needed, which leave the hospital a serious problem in patient flow especially in flu seasons. In addition, patients often get lost in the hospital becuse the signage system isn't working properly.

The aim of this project is to design a web-based symptom checker for panic parents to help them decide what type of care is needed for their children, and also provide an attached way finding application for parents to track their relatives and services within the BCCH.
