BATCH PROCESSING FILE CHANGES WITH PHOTOSHOP
First of all, you should set up a "source folder" in the temporary workspace in “Save Here” (also known as the Scratch Disk). The directory is where you must place the images you want to change. For example, a folder called "scanned images” contains files that you would like to rotate.
Make another, "destination folder" (e.g., for “rotated images”).
To set actions, you must open the first of the image files in the source folder. Go to the Actions Window, click triangle [ > ] in the upper-right corner of the window and choose New Action. Give the action a name, such as "rotate."
Hit the Record button and go through the necessary Photoshp steps that you want the software to automate (e.g., to rotate the image). When you have completed the steps, click the Stop button.
Going back to the image file that you have just adjusted, close the document but DO NOT SAVE IT.
Referring to the Action Window, make sure that the "rotate" action is checked.
To start the automation process, go to the main menu and locate File > Automate > Batch. Again, reviewing the Action Window, under Play, scroll down to "rotate."
- Source: Choose Folder and find the folder where your original images reside.
- Destination: Select the folder where you would like the rotated images to end up.
Press OK.
