IMPORTANT NOTES ON SUBMITTING ASSIGNMENTS

I would like students to submit their digital animation assignments by depositing files into my on-line drop box. As an alternative, you could provide me with material burned on a compact disk (a data disk). Do not e-mail files to me.

When it comes time to hand in your work, you must first make a folder or directory to place the file(s) into. Be sure to name the folder with one name only, including the date when you submitted your work; use an "underscore" to signify spaces. For example:

  • your_name_date

At all times, you must make sure that your name -- first initial and surname -- are part of the file name. For instance:

  • yourname_walk_sequence.mov

To place a file in my drop box, you should use a File Transfer Protocol (FTP). Emily Carr Institute's FTP address is:

  • ftp.ecuad.ca

Click below for the following information:

Please be aware that "Dropboxes" is plural, written with an "s" on the end of the name, and starts with a capital "D."

Once you log onto the Dropboxes server, simply:

  • Double-click on the <mrose> folder to open the directory
  • In that directory, locate the folder for your course
  • Drage and drop the item into the course folder. Don't try to open the folder first, because you won't have access to the directory.

To confirm that you have deposited the file, please send me a brief e-mail message <mrose@ecuad.ca> to indicate that you have done so.
