Dr. Gillian Siddall is the 10th President of Emily Carr and is currently serving under an initial five-year contract with the ECU Board of Governors (2018-2023). The Board will assemble a committee to oversee a review process and make a recommendation to the Board, informed by the president’s role and responsibilities, and feedback from the ECU community.
Dr. Siddall will work closely with the committee and provide a written submission reflecting on the first term and goals for the future.
The committee will aim to complete its work this summer. It will comprise members from across the University and includes students, faculty, staff, alumni and a member of the Indigenous community at ECU. This process aligns with the ECU Policy on Presidential Review for Reappointment, approved by the Board of Governors and Senate.
How to participate
We invite all members of the ECU Community to provide confidential feedback during the review process. We will be working closely with an external firm to conduct a survey and interviews with members of the ECU community. They will then summarize and anonymize the submissions to present to the Committee and Board.
We will keep you informed throughout the review process on ways to share your feedback.
