Figure Painting (CEPN 205)
In this course, explore the traditional and contemporary applications of figure painting. Using acrylic paintings and mediums, students will develop and expand the observational skills necessary to capture the human figure. Underpainting the building blocks of bodily structural anatomy will be practiced through skeleton and live model sessions. Gesture and contour marks, acrylic paint colour mixing and blending, and proportion and perspective will be used to capture the volume, form, and emotion of diverse poses.

Instructional Hours: 24 hours (6 classes, 4 hours per class)
Additional Hours: 24 hours for independent study and practice, assignment completion and homework.
