Painting the Portrait (CEPN 206)

Develop skills and techniques to create dynamic painted portraits in this special topic course. Students will learn the basic structural anatomy of the face and head and how it relates to proportion and perspective. Familiarity with using paint to render skin tone, features and facial expressions will be developed. The technical aspects of portraiture painting practices will be explored alongside contemporary, conceptual, and experimental opportunities.
