2D Composition + Form (CEFA 100)

This foundational course introduces you to the relationship of concept and composition in 2D art practices. You will develop skills in composition by investigating how line, shape, colour, texture and surface treatment enhance and influence form. Experimentation with a variety of media allows you to explore aesthetics and meaning by applying the elements and principles of composition. You will learn to reference historical and contemporary theories and image sources as inspirations for art making.

Course Format

This course is offered online (synchronous) and on campus.

Instructional Hours:
24 hours (8 classes, 3 hours per class)

Additional Hours:
up to 24 hours for independent study and practice, assignment completion and homework.
